We are delighted to announce that one of our junior researchers, Najmiatul Masykura made it to the final round and won as the first place of 2018 Young Scientist Award hosted by Merck Indonesia. This prestigious event was held in IPB Convention Centre (Bogor, West Java), on November 15th, 2018. In this competitive event, there are 132 research submissions from 54 institutions. In the semifinal round, 12 were selected to present their poster in front of the judges. Five finalists were further selected to explain their research through oral presentation. Prof. dr. Amin Subandrio W. Kusumo, PhD., SpMK, as the head of the judges, announced the 3 winners to the audience in the final round of the competition.

Najmiatul Masykura submitted her research summary, under supervision of Mr. Ahmad Utomo, phD, and was deemed qualified to participate in the event. In this prestigious event, she presented her research about lung cancer, entitled Development of the Locally Produced Companion Diagnostic Kit for Gene Mutation Detection in Lung Cancer. This research is a multiyear’s project, in collaboration with Dr. dr. Achmad Hudoyo, Sp.p(K) and team from Persahabatan Hospital dan Mr. Asep M. Ridwanulloh, M.Sc and team from LIPI.
